Only Built For Infinity Links is Quavo and Takeoff’s first collaborative album after a long catalog of music between the two, released on October 7, 2022.

The name of the album pays tribute to Raekwon’s classic 1995 album, “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…”, which also has a reference on the cover with the signs of Ghostface Killah, made by Quavo.

On May 20, the duo release the first promotional single for the album, “HOTEL LOBBY (Unc & Phew)” — Also creating some rumors of a possible breakup between the Migos’ members after the release of the song.

The second promotional single and Gucci Mane-assisted, “Us vs. Them” was released on July 29.

On August 18, 2022, Quavo and Takeoff talked in an interview with RapRadar about an upcoming “Unc & Phew” album that would be worked since after the release of the last Migos‘ album, Culture III, with also some very particular sounds of both artists:

It’s an album that’s always been in our mind that we wanted to do […] You’re about to get this real-deal, raw, uncut, 2024, 2026 [sound]. [We’re going] back to the essence, back to the origin, back to the real screams and shouts. You know, how I came in on Us Vs. Them. It’s about blood, it’s about us coming together, bringing it back home to the family.

The third and last promotional single with Birdman, “Big Stunna”, was released on August 26.

On September 6, Quavo took to Twitter to ask his fans in a tweet about the possible album. The next day, both Quavo and Takeoff confirmed the project on their social media with the release date and cover art, which also shows a clear reference to Outkast’s 2000 album, Stankonia, “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx…”, and many others.

On September 23, Both Quavo and Takeoff revealed the tracklist consisting of 18 songs and collaboration like YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Young Thug, Gunna, and more.
