Drake, a Canadian rapper, lost his $1 million wager on Argentina defeating France even though the South American squad won the 2022 World Cup.
Drake was seen selecting the Lionel Messi-led Argentina team to win the match in a video that was shared on Twitter the day before Argentina took on France. According to reports, Drake lost money as a result of the betting website’s policies.
The problem, according to Fox News, was that Drake “placed a wager in a market where extra time is ignored and the outcome is decided using the score after 90 minutes of play.
Argentina and France drew 2-2 after 90 minutes of play on Sunday’s World Cup championships in Qatar. They then played extra time, where they both drew 3-3, and ultimately went to penalties, where Argentina won 4-2.
Drake would have received $2.75 million, or a $1.75 million victory, if his wager had been successful.
Another $2 million was lost by Drake in November after he bet that Israel Adesanya would defeat Alex Pereira in a UFC fight, which Adesanya sadly did not win.
